This project involved the redesign of a penthouse apartment in a 1920s neo-classical style building located across the street from the original Whitney Museum. The clean lines and neutral color palette of the composition create a dazzling contemporary home, featuring wraparound views of Central Park and the Upper East Side of Manhattan. A formal entryway from the private elevator separates the open-plan living areas from the master suite. Natural light streams into the apartment through skylights and the full-height steel and glass windows and doors that border the living, dining, and den spaces, which open onto the wraparound terrace.
